STRATEGY REVIEW Part 1

The North Pennines Heritage trust is growing rapidly and is now a medium-sized charity.

Over the winter of 2006/07 all staff and trustees have been consulted and their views gathered on:

  • Their vision for the trust
  • Their three priorities for the next three years
  • Objectives and timescales within their own area of interest

This has resulted in the following vision statement:

To see the Trust running as a financially sustainable organisation allowing us to continue our work of preservation and education in the North Pennines, in particular at Nenthead, and to be an exemplary heritage trust in the region.

This is supported by the three main priorities:

  1. Financial sustainability
  2. Preservation and education in the North Pennines
  3. Becoming an exemplary heritage trust

The first step in implementing these three priorities has now started and is the restructuring of the Trust business operations.

Two new management post have been created.

The Trust Business Manager will manage the operation of the Trust business activities.

The Trust Development Officer will sustain and develop the Trust in accordance with the Articles of Association.
