Welcome to Nenthead Mines Heritage Centre!

From here you can find out more about Nenthead Mines, a museum dedicated to both showing and telling the 'story' of the mineral mining past of the North Pennines. Prepare to launch on a voyage of discovery at Nenthead Mines, learning more about the people, places, tools, lifestyle, and legacy of the mining industry that at one time completely dominated the landscape of the North Pennines!

Opening Times

This season the Nenthead Mines Heritage Centre is open daily from 21st March to the 2nd November 2008.
The site opens at 11.00am and closes at 5.00pm, last entry to the Mine is at 3.30pm. We are open every day of the week, all year round, for pre-booked groups. A programme of special events is planned throughout the year - please check our events page or contact us for further details.

Height restrictions for mine visits apply. The mine is unsuitable for wheelchair access.
