    Enjoy fieldwork in the beautiful surroundings of Nenthead. Use magni-jars and identification keys to learn about animals and their habitats.

    <empty>Observe and experience light and darkness inside a Victorian Lead Mine. <empty>Find out what life was like before electricity and take part in a creative <empty>‘Glow in the Dark’ workshop.
    <empty>iv.)<empty> Pennine Village - Key Stage 2&3
    <empty>This is a programme of activities developed to support the investigation <empty>of local history relating to silver and lead mining on Alston Moor, Cumbria <empty>and, in particular, the community of the village of Nenthead, providing the <empty>opportunity to make a comparative study of the village of Nenthead – how <empty>it   grew and changed over the years.
    <empty>v.)<empty> Rock Safari - Key Stage 2&3
    <empty>Search for examples of different minerals, crystals and metal ores <empty>washed down from our 18th century spoil heaps. Use sorting and <empty>branching database techniques to identify finds.

    <empty>Visit Nenthead Mines and learn what life was like for the miners and their <empty>families. Learn about the Power of Water with our large interactive display <empty>and pan for minerals taking home your finds.
